From Denver’s Loft Boom

to Boulder’s Finest Floors

Recoatings began in the Denver area in the early 1990s, right as the city was transforming from an industrial hub into a design-driven downtown. We were there at the start of the Denver loft boom, helping turn worn, cold industrial spaces into warm, elegant homes. Many of those early projects took place in brick warehouses and old factories that were being reborn as urban lofts — places that demanded not just construction skill, but true craftsmanship and vision.

Through that era, we learned how to blend old and new: preserving original character while adding polish and precision. Our work became part of Denver’s shift toward modern, livable luxury — floors that carried history but looked entirely fresh.

After more than a decade refining our installation and restoration craft, we expanded into hardwood finishing and refinishing, developing proprietary methods that balanced durability with artistry. Those techniques set the foundation for everything we do today.

Now, with decades of experience behind us, Recoatings has brought that same expertise north — beautifying homes and businesses throughout Boulder and Northern Colorado. From revitalizing hardwoods in Boulder’s historic neighborhoods to installing new floors in modern Front Range builds, we carry forward the same precision and pride that shaped downtown Denver’s revival.
